Profile for Jane Thompson
In 2002 I took a career change and trained as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant. This fitted in well with my love of learning and teaching, which I hadn’t pursued until then, and with bringing up my own children. I gained plenty of experience and fond memories. I thoroughly enjoyed this work for the next 15 years working in various schools, both secondary and primary. I took all the training offered: I am a great believer in continued professional development. So much so, that when I re-located in 2017 to the Southwest to semi-retire, I missed teaching and so decided to pick it up again with a refresher course. In 2021, I found Plymouth Private Tutors and concurrent to embarking on further training in education with Applied Scholastics, I started working as a private tutor. My subject is English and with my experience and especially my recent training, I am more enthusiastic than ever to help others appreciate literary works and to succeed in using our language.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.
It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
